WHAT IS SIX-SIGMA?

A full blown Six Sigma implementation utilizes many different  tools, techniques, and business metrics. It requires the support of the entire organization and intensive training for those persons selected to lead the transition, the Black Belts and Master Black Belts. If it is undertaken successfully it can result in the minimization of variation and defects from products, processes and services to almost zero and savings of millions of dollars. Organizations that have achieved Six-Sigma have improved their processes so that they consistently produce no more than 3.4 defects per million opportunities.  Typically a full blown Six Sigma Implementation takes 3-5 years and an outlay of  significant money. Typically, Six Sigma includes 5 steps known as DMAIC
